What is considered a slip and
fall accident for
filing a personal injury claim?
Slip
and fall or trip and fall are the generic terms for injuries that occur
as a result of dangerous or hazardous conditions on someone else's
property.
Here are some common causes of slip and fall accidents;
• Water, Ice or Snow which
was not naturally accumulated
• Flooring Level
• Poor Lighting
• Lack of Handrail where
required
• Hidden Hazards such as
torn carpeting, loose tiles or cracked pavement
Property
owners are responsible for injuries that occur as a result of dangerous

What should someone do after
they slip and fall?
Inspect
the area where you fell and attempt to find out what caused the fall.
If you have a camera or cellphone camera, take a photo of the areas,
and any injuries or bruises. Write down the name, telephone numbers and
the addresses of any witnesses. Be sure to note the date, time and
location of where you fell. If the incident occurred in a business, be
sure to have the on duty manager fill out an accident report and get a

What should I do about my
injuries resulting from
my fall?
If
appropriate, seek medical attention immediately. It will be quite
difficult to assert a claim for injuries and pain and suffering without
